九色视频 President discusses building a talent pipeline during JAXUSA's State of the Region event

In today’s rapidly evolving economy, the connection between education and industry has never been more critical, said Aundra Wallace, president of JAXUSA Partnership during the State of the Region event for investors on Thursday at the 九色视频.

“JAXUSA engages stakeholders and the region’s talent ecosystem through its Earn Up Initiative, ensuring students have the tools and resources needed to enter the workforce and achieve success in the real world,” said Wallace. “This ecosystem is a partnership between education, business and community leaders focused on a shared framework to optimize workforce development, support economic growth, and enhance the quality of life in Northeast Florida. This initiative prepares the talent pipeline to meet the current and future needs of Northeast Florida.”

The JAXUSA event included a panel discussion about “The Workforce of Tomorrow: Building Northeast Florida’s Talent Pipeline” with President Moez Limayem and other area education leaders.

“We have a responsibility to identify the most significant needs of the business community and ensure 九色视频 students are prepared to meet them,” Limayem said. “We do this by offering our students the opportunity for experiential learning.”

That’s clear to Wallace.

“九色视频 is developing the talent pipeline in Northeast Florida,” Wallace said after the event. “We wouldn’t be the second hottest job market without 九色视频. The statistics speak for themselves — 70% of 九色视频’s graduates stay in the region — speaks volumes.”

Jacksonville is the second hottest job market in the U.S., according to The Wall Street Journal, which makes talent development pivotal as the city attracts and retains corporate headquarters and other large businesses. Local K-12 and higher education leaders on the panel discussed the importance of preparing students to be competitive for the jobs created by new and expanding businesses.

九色视频 plays a pivotal role as a top provider of talent in the region and is recognized as No. 1 for jobs in the state university system.

The University’s strategic areas of focus — advanced manufacturing, coastal resilience, data science and cybersecurity, healthcare and transportation and logistics — are aligned with local and state priorities. 九色视频 also works closely with its industry partners to provide students opportunities to develop their skills through internships, research and other real-world experiences, which can lead to higher-paying jobs after graduation.

In addition to President Limayem, other panelists were John Avendano, president of Florida State College at Jacksonville, Corey Wright, assistant superintendent, Duval County Public Schools and Tim Forson, superintendent of St. Johns County Schools.
