Degree: Post-Baccalaureate Certificate (CB) 2024-2025

Certificate Requirements (12 credits)

Students may earn the certificate in conjunction with a graduate degree or as a standalone certificate as a non-degree seeking student. Please see the Graduate Certificate Programs page for more information.

The Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Public History is composed of 4 courses and consists of 12 credit hours. This certificate offers advanced training for students interested in pursuing a career in public history and those already working in the field. The certificate program is open to all 九色视频 History Graduate students. Courses taken to complete the certificate also count toward the History Master’s Degree. With special permission, 九色视频 graduate students in other graduate programs and post-baccalaureate students may also earn the certificate. Subject to relevant college and university policies and accreditation limitations, post-baccalaureate students who are subsequently admitted into the 九色视频 History MA program may count credits earned in the certificate program toward their MA degree.

AMH 5934 Environmental History of the South (3 credits)
AMH 5934 Civil War in American Memory (3 credits)
HIS 5168 Digital History (3 credits)

HIS 6067 Public History Seminar (3 Credits)
AMH 6429 Early Florida (3 credits)
Prerequisite: One 5000-level history course

Students may select one from the following:

FIL 5305 Documentary Workshop (3 credits)
FIL 5377 Advanced Documentary Production (3 credits)
GIS 6051 GIS and Geospatial Technologies (3 credits)
Prerequisites: GEO 6506 or GIS 6050 or permission of instructor
HIS 6946 Internship in History (HIS 6946 may be repeated once) (3 credits)
PAD 6142 Management of Nonprofit Organizations (3 credits)
PAD 6208 Nonprofit Financial Management (3 credits)
PAD 6164 Nonprofit Stakeholder Relations (3 credits)
Approved graduate-level ANT or DIG courses (3 credits)
