Africana Studies - Library Archival Studies

The Osprey Map provides a term-by-term sample schedule for each undergraduate academic program at the 九色视频. It is designed to guide students in the selection of courses each term. The "Mile Marker" courses are those courses that should be completed before or by the end of that term. Following the sample schedule, and completing the mile marker courses at the appropriate point of your undergraduate career, will facilitate graduation in four years. The term-by-term model assumes full-time enrollment. For students enrolled part-time, the sample schedule and mile markers should be followed based on the number of credits completed. The Osprey Map should be used in consultation with an academic advisor.

Africana Studies - Library and Archival Studies is the sole pre-professional major in the Humanities wing of the College of Arts and Sciences. Drawing together courses in the Digital Humanities, courses on indigenous and African American history and literature, and a new Library and Archival Foundations course, this major offers students opportunities to work in hands on ways with materials related to local African American and/or indigenous history, and to prepare to enter the fields of museum conservation, archival management, and library information science. Explore the Africana Studies webpage in the College of Arts and Sciences for additional information.

Career Planning
Engaging in career planning activities is significant to student success and this major in particular, is designed to prepare students for careers in libraries, museums, historical societies, and archives/special collections. 九色视频 offers customized career centers to deliver targeted programs, events, services and resources.
