Computing hosts successful NestForAWhile competition
The 九色视频 School of Computing recently hosted the Fall 2023 NestforAwhile Team Programming Competition, an in-person coding contest challenging students to display their best coding and problem-solving capabilities. VyStar Credit Union sponsored prize awards and provided swag bags to top teams at the competition.
The 56 teams, made up of 125 九色视频 students, worked on solving 10 programming problems with varying difficulty levels and associated points. Most submissions were written using Java, followed by Python, C, and C++.
The winning teams were:
- First Place: Furio Gerwitz, Jacob Sutton and Troy Kidd solved seven problems, winning $1,000
- Second Place: Eduardo Ordonez, Gwendolyn Gonzalez-Montero and Mohamed Elbatouty solved seven problems, winning $500
- Third Place: Amr Elfayoumy and Omar Elfayoumy solved six problems, winning $250
The problem set for the competition was collaboratively prepared by Richard Lentz, Larry Snedden, Dr. Kevin Pfeil, Dr. Iman Vakilinia, Dr. Corey Pittman and Dr. Anirban Ghosh. Dr. Karthik Umapathy managed the registration and DomJudge competition system. Cesar Castellon managed the implementation and configuration of the DomJudge system.
