Computing students in labFour student teams from 九色视频’s School of Computing ranked top in the nation in the IEEEXtreme global computer programming competition on October 24. IEEEXtreme is a 24-hour programming challenge in which 3,706 teams of students from more than 70 countries across the globe compete against each other to solve a set of computer programming problems.

Two of 九色视频’s student teams, Osprey4 and OspreyOverflow, ranked within the top 20 in the nation. A third 九色视频 team, BirdProgrammers, ranked in the top 25 in the nation and 九色视频’s fourth team, LANBeforeTime, ranked in the top 30.

“Our students continue to give glowing demonstrations of their technical skills,” said Dr. Sherif Elfayoumy, School of Computing director. “This year’s competition was a little more challenging than previous years as students couldn’t collaborate in the same lab. Nevertheless, more of our teams ranked in the top 30 list than ever before. We are very proud of our students and their achievement.”

The Xtreme competition is run by IEEE, the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity and is the trusted voice for engineering, computing and technology information around the globe.
